How Does a Network Switch Work?
A network switch connects multiple devices within a local area network (LAN) and enables efficient data communication. It receives data packets, checks the destination MAC address, and forwards the data only to the intended device. By sending data to the correct destination instead of all devices, a switch reduces network traffic and improves performance. It also learns and stores device addresses in a table, allowing faster and more accurate data transmission.
